The
"Libby" dress pattern for Blythe is the first in what I hope
will be an expanding and varied line of sewing patterns for Blythe and
other dolls.
The "Libby" dress is a quality design with simple lines that
has a lot of possibilities. You can let your creativity loose with
different fabric selections, trims, hand and machine embroidery, etc, to
create dresses with this pattern that are truly unique. It's a high-waisted,
sleeveless dress with a rounded neckline and gathered skirt. The bodice
is fully lined and the instructions show both snap and Velcro closures.
"Libby" is beginner level dress. Along with the cover page and
one page of pattern pieces, the pattern includes 5 pages of detailed
instructions with photos. In addition to Blythe, this versatile pattern
also fits Pullip, Bratz, and Lati Yellow Sp, and likely other
similar-sized dolls. It does NOT fit Lati Yellow Renewal nor Momoko
properly, though it would with some adjustment.
"Libby" dresses would make wonderful holiday gifts for all
your Blythe-loving friends, as well as great swap items, and new
additions to your store. Permission is granted to the buyer for
commercial use with credit given to the author. More information is
included in the instructions.
This pattern is in PDF format to be downloaded as a ZIP file by the
buyer. Once I receive your payment, I will email you with a link to a
webpage where you may download your pattern. This link will be valid for
3 days. If you would prefer to have a pattern printed and mailed to you,
please look for the listing for the "Print&Ship" version
of this pattern.
The "Print&Ship" paper version of the
pattern will be mailed to you on my next shipping day. It will come in a
plastic sleeve. (I really like keeping my patterns in plastic sleeves in
looseleaf binders. The clear pockets hold all the little cut pieces
nicely and they are easy to locate and store.) This pattern has 7 pages.
A duplicate of the pattern page, printed on cardstock, will also be
included. Cardstock pattern pieces allow easy tracing of fresh pattern
pieces once your paper ones wear out.
In addition to years of sewing experience, both personal and
professional, I hold a degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion
Institute of Design and Merchandising with training in pattern-making.
I've also taught beginner- and intermediate-level sewing classes. Every
effort has been made to create a pattern that fits beautifully and is
easy to understand and sew. I hope you'll give it a try.
