How To Order

Status Announcement:

Closed for Commissions

I am currently not accepting requests on commissioned items.  

Check the Status Announcement box above to see if I am taking orders.  If the waiting list starts to get too long, I have to close the Q temporarily.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have about my work, even if the Q is closed.

Orders Via Email

Your order begins when you email me at susan402 at gmail dot com and tell me exactly what item or items interest you.  

I will get back to you as soon as possible to discuss the details.  This will include the time-frame I estimate to complete your order, as well as a price quote.  It may take us a few emails back and forth to work out all the details.  It's important to me to be as clear as possible.  

Once we've confirmed your order via email, I will get to it as soon as possible.  I usually work on projects in the order in which I receive confirmation, but I also reserve the right to go out of order and group like projects from a few different customers together so that I can work more efficiently.

If you have been waiting a while, I will probably contact you again to let you know when I start working on your order.  

When your order is completed, I will email you a link to pictures of the finished product.  I will also send you an invoice via PayPal at that time (unless another arrangement has been agreed upon in our prior communication, see My Etsy Shop below).

Please pay your invoice as soon as possible.  If there is a problem, please contact me.  Items that are not paid within 2 weeks of invoice being sent will be offered to the next customer waiting or listed for sale elsewhere.  

Once your payment clears, I will wrap and ship your item on the next shipping day.  (See Shipping below.)

When you receive your item, please contact me again to let me know that it made it to you safely.  I do worry.

My Etsy Shop

I do maintain (though I use the term maintain loosely just now) an Etsy Shop at http://www.susan402.etsy.com.

While I do not always have time keep stock in the store, things do occasionally find their way to being listed there, and it is available for you to see my feedback, and as another way to facilitate our transaction.  

Special Orders via Etsy

If you feel more comfortable buying through an established online marketplace, you may request, in your initial email communication, that your completed item be listed as a RESERVED listing at Etsy.  Please include your Etsy username in your email.

Your completed order will be listed with RESERVED and your Etsy username in the title, and I will contact you with a link to the listing.  

Listing through Etsy costs me fees of $1.50-$4.50 per item/listing, depending on price, in addition to the extra time it takes to prepare your listing there.  I reserve the right to impose an additional fee on these transactions, which will be specified up front.

Etsy Convos

I prefer to be contacted by email at susan402@gmail.com.  This allows me to manage all my communication from one place without having to log into another site to check details of your order and to contact you.  Even when you use email to set up and discuss your order, you may still request that your order be listed at Etsy (see Special Orders Via Etsy above).

Please understand that when you contact me by Etsy Convo, I feel obligated to list your item at Etsy.  Doing otherwise is considered fee avoidance.

Payment

I prefer PayPal and accept all forms.  Please make sure your address is current and correct.

You may also opt to pay via money order.  This should be specified by email prior to confirmation of your order.  Please understand that payment via money order (or by PayPal e-check) can delay shipment of your package, as I wait until I have received payment before preparing orders for shipping.

Shipping

Once I receive payment for your order, it is packaged and shipped on my next shipping day.  Shipping days at this time are Mondays and Fridays, excluding holidays on which the Post Office is closed.  If there is any delay in getting your order out, I will contact you via email.  If you don’t receive your order within a reasonable period, please contact me so I can work on tracking it down.

I use the address on your PayPal account as your shipping address. Please make sure that it is current and correct.

I ship via USPS, domestically via First Class Mail (2-5 days) and internationally via International First Class (usually 7-21 days). In most cases, Delivery Confirmation is included for packages shipped within the US. Tracking is not available for International First Class. These are the most affordable methods of shipping your items that I have found. They do not include insurance. 

If you need to upgrade to Priority Mail or need insurance on your package, please inform me in your email so that I can get you a shipping quote.
